The Dragon Lady: The Extreme Transformation of Tiamat…
Meet Tiamat, a 55-year-old former banker from New Mexico, USA, who is on a personal journey to transform into a living dragon. Once known as Richard Hernandez, Tiamat’s metamorphosis involves a series of extreme body modifications that have drastically altered her appearance and identity.
Tiamat, who now prefers to be referred to with the pronoun “it,” was born in Mobiltown, Maricopa County, Arizona. Growing up in Texas, Richard always felt that he was a woman trapped in a man’s body. Over the years, Tiamat has undertaken an intense transformation to align her physical form with what she describes as her “true identity”—a mythical dragon.
Among her most striking modifications, Tiamat has had both of her ears removed in a procedure known as the “double van Gogh,” which is one of the key components of her quest to resemble a reptilian creature. Inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Voldemort, she also had her nose reshaped to further complement her dragon-like features.
Additionally, Tiamat’s transformation includes subdermal brow implants, snake scale tattoos, scarification on her face, and the implantation of forehead horns. The whites of her eyes are stained green, giving her what she calls the “Green Eyes of Death,” a nod to the Medusa-like appearance she embraces.
Her full name, “Eva Tiamat Baphomet Medusa,” reflects her new identity as the “Dragon Lady,” a persona she is proud of and feels at peace with.
Tiamat has spent over $45,000 on body modifications throughout her journey, with plans for further procedures in the future. The goal is to be 95% covered in snake scale tattoos, which she considers an art form and a means of self-expression.
“I’m morphing into what I call my true form as a once-mythical dragon,” Tiamat explains. “For me, body modification is not just about aesthetics; it’s about personal gratification, spiritual significance, and embracing my true self.”
Tiamat’s journey has been a deeply transformative one, giving her what she refers to as a “second chance at life.” After undergoing more than 50 surgeries, Tiamat feels at peace with her body. She adds, “Body modification has given me a new life. I am finally happy with how I see myself and how I feel in my skin. Perfection is a magical thing to experience.”
