Salted butter caramel
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (adjust to taste)
Instructions:
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat the granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon until the sugar melts and turns into an amber-colored liquid.
- Carefully pour the heavy cream into the caramelized sugar while stirring constantly. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble up.
- Once the cream is fully incorporated, add the unsalted butter to the saucepan. Continue stirring until the butter melts completely and the mixture becomes smooth and glossy.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the sea salt. Adjust the amount according to your taste preference.
- Allow the caramel to cool down before transferring it to a glass jar or airtight container.
- This salted butter caramel can be used as a topping for ice cream, drizzled over desserts, or served as a dip for fruits.
- Enjoy your delicious homemade salted butter caramel!
