Today is my 70th birthday, and for the first time in years, I feel hopeful. Two years after losing my husband, life felt empty and lonely. But last week, I saw Cooper’s photo on Facebook. He was a 5-year-old dog who’d spent over a year in the shelter, and was labeled “unadoptable” because of his limp and timid nature. Something about his eyes just clicked, and I knew I had to meet him. When we did, it was like he had been waiting for me all along.
Now, he’s my shadow, my comfort, and my reminder that love finds you when you need it most. They said he was “unadoptable,” but to me, he’s perfect. 🐾 Christmas is just days away, and I know it will be a special one, filled with love and the company of my new best friend.
