Dog Abandoned in the Woods Now Living It Up and Having Lots of Summer Fun in Her Forever Home
Willow got lost in the woods where I work.
I was driving down the road when she emerged into the road. I felt she belonged to someone because she was wearing a collar, so I contacted the local shelter to find her parents. Long story short, no one claimed her.
I visited her every day to show her that not everyone abandons people they care about.
She was emaciated and dehydrated, and whenever I showed up, she was always overjoyed and never wanted me to leave. However, I had to wait 15 days to ensure that no one claimed her before I could bring her home and make her a member of our family.
Willow was quite shy at first and wary of everyone but me.
She eventually began to love everyone around her. She is now well indulged, with several toys and a large family.
Willow enjoys being outside, chasing her brothers, and talking trash to the cattle.
She enjoys swimming in the pond and splashing in their pool, but when we turn on the water hose, she goes crazy. She, too, enjoys the sprinkler, so water is her favorite summer activity.
We reside in Texas, and the temperatures outside are continuously in the triple digits, so Willow and her siblings come inside to relax in the air conditioning.
When I brought Willow home, the first thing she was given, other from her own blanket, was a plush alligator, which she still snuggles with whenever she is in the house.
She refuses to take it outside or let her siblings to take it, so Alligator never gets to play in the water.
Willow May was clearly supposed to cross my way that day, and she has been a blessing to all of the family and her siblings, especially since she entered our lives shortly after we lost two of our fur babies. It was meant to be; she needed us just as much as we needed her.
