Women were so gorgeous before Botox and breast implants; Brigitte Bardot is a wonderful example. Brigitte, a French actress and singer, rose to prominence in Europe in the 1950s, but she was as warmly received in America. After leaving the spotlight, she prioritized animal welfare over plastic surgery, making it difficult not to grin while seeing this icon now.

Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot was born on September 28, 1934 in France.

She’s always been a lovely person to look at, but happily, she’s also beautiful on the inside. Brigitte’s lifelong passion for animals has made me adore her, and I will always have a warm spot for this elegant woman.

She began her modeling career when she was 15 years old. She was an ambitious ballerina in her early years, but as a teenager, she appeared on the cover of Elle magazine instead.

Brigitte’s beautiful blonde locks, gorgeous skin, sensitive pout, and voluptuous proportions made her stand out. However, her Hollywood films underperformed and were box-office flops. People had great expectations for her when she played alongside Sean Connery in the Western Shalako in 1968, but the picture garnered mixed reviews.

Brigitte’s retirement announcement in 1973 surprised many of her followers. She was still a major star and quite engaged in the entertainment business.

However, the overwhelming weight of celebrity life eventually smothered her, which is why she resolved to end it all.

“The bulk of outstanding actresses had terrible endings. “When I said goodbye to this job, to this life of opulence and glitter, images and adoration, the quest to be desired, I saved my life,” Bardot told The Guardian.

“At first, I loved having people talk about me, but it gradually became suffocating and destructive. Throughout my 20-year career as a movie star, I would have herpes every time production started.”

After her retirement, she shunned the outside world and became a recluse.

However, Brigitte managed to pick herself up and decided to use her fame for something good. 13 years after her retirement, she formed the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.

Her interest in animals started in 1962 when she was only 28.

“She did not get much affection from her parents, and when we started dating, she didn’t want jewels, but a dog,” Brigitte’s first husband, Roger Vadim, told People.

He continued, “She was always averse to fame, power, and everything associated with success. The purity and honesty of animals comforted her.”

Brigitte Bardot today

Brigitte Bardot is 89 years old, and her legacy lives on. In 2020, Vogue named Brigitte one of “the most beautiful French actresses of all time.”

The 89-year-old cinematic queen and former blonde bombshell redefined fashion with her hair and cosmetics, earning her a place among the most famous faces, models, and performers of the 1950s and 1960s.

According to rumors, she resides in the French seaside village of La Madrague. The former celebrity is married to a rich businessman, Bernard d’Ormal. They’ve been married since August 16, 1992, when they tied the knot in Norway.

Brigitte remains a passionate and dedicated animal activist. In an interview with Vogue, she was asked what motivates her to get out of bed each morning.

“The suffering of animals,” she said.

”You probably know that I find walking difficult these days. I can’t go for long walks any more, or go swimming. But I’m lucky, compared to what animals suffer. The dozens of letters I receive every day testify to the horrors that animals are still being subjected to.”
