I couldn’t believe my eyes at church this Christmas.
There, walking confidently down the aisle, was a woman well over 70 wearing a long, bright red Christmas sweater — and not just any red, but a bold, almost flashy shade, covered in festive patterns.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I respect everyone’s right to dress as they please, but at a church service? And in such a striking color?
It just felt a little… inappropriate.
There’s something about a more subdued look that shows reverence, especially on a holy day like Christmas.
It wasn’t just the color either — the sweater had these sparkly details that honestly seemed more suited for a holiday gathering or a New Year’s Eve party, not a holy sanctuary.
To me, church should be a place for modesty and humility, a moment away from the glitz and glam.
I tried not to stare, but I couldn’t help thinking it just didn’t feel quite right for a Christmas service.
How about you ?
