A 10-year-old child donates over $315,000 to buy police canines protective vests.
The very least we can all demand is that people treat the animals with which we share our planet with kindness.
Thankfully, there are animal heroes working to save animals and improve their quality of life everywhere in the world. They deserve praise and recognition for their actions and the impact they have.
One such hero is Brady Snakovsky, a 10-year-old from Strongsville, Ohio. It didn’t sit well with him when he discovered two years ago that police canines don’t always get bulletproof jackets like their handlers do.
The child reportedly became interested in the notion that police K-9s occasionally have to enter hazardous situations without the same level of safety as their handlers while watching an episode of Live PD with his mother, Leah Tornabene.
He immediately determined he had to take action because he found this intolerable. In an attempt to raise money to purchase additional jackets for the courageous canines in the police department, he set up a GoFundMe page.
Brady had saved up enough cash in February 2018 to purchase his first four Ohio State Trooper jackets. It was only up from there.
Brady took his purpose seriously and wrote to his local legislators to ask for assistance. He also spread the news so that more people were aware of his goals.
Soon after, a charity organization called Brady’s K9 Fund was established with the goal of raising funds to provide police and military dogs with bulletproof jackets.
In the present, Brady’s K9 Fund has raised an astounding $315,000 and provided protective vests for 257 canines.
“We were watching the show together and I didn’t even notice that the dog wasn’t wearing a vest,” Brady’s mother Leah told CNN. I found it surprising that an eight-year-old child could identify the problem and come up with a way to address it. I was really pleased to see him take this action.
Furthermore, Brady has declared his goal to follow in his stepfather’s footsteps and join the police force when he grows up in order to safeguard others.
Naturally, any expectations that may be put on an eight-year-old have already been greatly exceeded by this young superstar.
He remarked, “I like seeing the handler’s smile.”
