Barca has finalized the first contract for the new season for 7 million euros, bringing in potential midfielder Chadi Riad.
Although La Liga is only half way through, right now, Barca’s board of directors has implemented a plan to bring in contracts for the new season. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca has finalized the first contract for the new season for 7 million euros when bringing in Chadi Riad, a 20-year-old midfielder currently playing for Betis.
Riad was loaned to Betis by Barca this summer with a buyback clause worth 7 million euros, if Riad plays a certain number of matches in La Liga this season.
With the activation of the above buyback clause, Riad will join the first team at Barca from June 2024. A recent announcement from Barca stated: “Both Betis and Chadi Riad have been informed of this decision and this will become a reality in the coming months. Therefore, Barça still has full ownership of one of the most solid and effective left-footed midfielders in La Liga.”
Chadi Riad has played quite impressively for Betis in La Liga this season. He contributed significantly to helping Betis rank 7th on the rankings in La Liga 2023/24 with 28 points after 18 rounds. According to assessments, Barca made a wise move by bringing in a midfielder with strong potential for price increases like Riad.
