Our neck is typically the first to show signs of aging and this is a well-known fact. The skin here is thinner compared to other parts of the body and it also has fewer oil glands which is why it loses elasticity faster. Fortunately, it is possible to fight age-related changes efficiently.
Here are a few popular tips that can stop aging and make your neck stay younger:
Don’t overuse perfume.
Perfumes contain alcohol and different types of aromatizers that dry off your skin and make it less elastic. In case you’re used to refreshing your perfume during the day, it’s better to put it on to the wrists only.
Don’t wear weighty jewelry.
Weighty necklaces and pendants stretch the tender skin on the neck. It’s better to wear them on special occasions only
Look after your posture.
Bad postures are also one of the reasons for headaches and neck pain. Aside from that, due to constant bending, wrinkles can appear and they’re not easy to eliminate.
There’s another enemy for beautiful skin and a good posture and that is the cell phone. A lot of people hold it lower than the eye level when they are reading or watching something and this also provokes the appearance of wrinkles.
Moisturize your skin frequently.
At first look, it appears obvious; however, a lot of women forget that the neck, just like the face, needs to be moisturized frequently. You don’t necessitate a special lotion as your regular face cream will be also good for your neck. You do have to take note on how you apply it to your neck because it is significant to move your fingers mildly upwards.
It’s also beneficial to take in some beauty techniques that we are doing on our face for our necks. For instance, the skin on your neck necessitates gentle exfoliation similar to your face. It’s better to utilize delicate remedies. For example, you can combine yogurt and oat flakes to be able to make a suitable scrub. It will help eliminate dead skin cells without hurting the tender skin on the neck.
Consume more foods rich in vitamin C and fatty acids.
Vitamin C enriches the production of collagen that makes the skin elastic. This is why it is better to incorporate more citrus fruits, tomatoes, and berries in your diet. It’s also good to consume more products rich in the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids: olive oil, fatty fish, nuts, and avocado. They help nurture the skin from the inside and they are exceptional for your health.
Remember to exercise.
There are numerous exercises that you can do to keep your neck and face muscles fit. Here are some of them:
Move the lower jaw back and forth.
Protrude your lips (in the shape of the letter “О”) and hold for 5 seconds.
Repeat this exercise several times.
Then, do the same, pronouncing the sound “E” like in “eel.”
Sit straight; press your right hand against your forehead.
Press your hand with force without tilting your head.
Hold this position for 10 seconds.
Sit straight, put your hands behind your head and press the back of your head against them without tilting your head backwards.
Hold this position for 10 seconds.
Tilt your head backwards and open your mouth.
Try to reach your upper lip with your lower lip without putting your teeth together.
Repeat the exercise several times.
To be able to achieve better results, do these exercises 1-2 times a day. Additionally, ordinary exercises can also help keep your neck fit because consistent physical exercise improves blood flow and supplements skin with oxygen, making it more elastic.
